The Moon is still void of course this morning in Cancer, though it will enter Leo this afternoon and immediately trine Saturn and oppose Mercury before being Full by tomorrow night.
The Moon entering Leo is like an empress or queen holding court in our lives. She might enter through your own moods and desires, or she may enter through someone in your life or even an event or general theme for the day. She is proud and powerful, perhaps haughty or self-centered. She is warm and charming, encouraging and sensual all at once. When the Moon in Leo takes center stage we often become incredibly stuck in our own point of view. As the Moon applies to oppose Mercury retrograde in Aquarius we may find that we're being challenged by an opposing viewpoint or idea that's quite a bit different from our own. A willing suspension of our position or stake in the matter might be called for. The recognition that something about our own point of view is provoking this opposition is an important lesson for us right now, if we can only get past the supremacy of our own moods or volition.
With the Moon in Leo sometimes we are also too easily triggered by people or ideas that we perceive as challenging our will power or authority. At the same time, the Moon in Leo can easily provoke jealousy from rebels who simply don't feel as good about themselves or from people who long for a stronger sense of identity or will power. So the old advice about not suffering fools is also especially applicable for today's astrology...especially when some fools are angrier, louder, and more irrational than others. Kings and Queens almost always attract jokers, mockers, and tomato throwers!
As the Moon in Leo trines Saturn in Sagittarius today, we may also find ourselves getting very clear about something we believe in or stand for. We may find easy support from mentors, teachers, elders, parents, bosses, or grandparents, or we might find ourselves feeling justified in our personal feelings or position about something. This may only add to the difficulty of a conflict, argument, or negotiation, because Saturn might be giving us a rigid (or strongly supported) sense of our righteousness. Despite whatever sense of justification we might feel we have going for us, the question is still about how we meet oppositions or how we deal with or communicate with people who challenge or oppose us. Especially when the opposition seems more about conflicting egos rather than important ideas.
There is a double standard most of us tend to carry that is reflected in the Leo/Aquarius full Moon this month, and that double standard has to do with whether or not we should care about or strive to be liked and celebrated by others. Mostly we hear the advice that you should "always be yourself," regardless of what other people think or how other people feel about you. Could it be that this idea is simply an Aquarian bias? Could it be that this piece of advice is just as often toxic as it is liberating? More on this tomorrow for the Full Moon report!
Prayer: Help us to be like wise old kings and queens today, and help us to entertain the opposition.
