Today is a foundation building day for the rest of this Moon cycle. The lights are harmonizing and cooperating which means we should find support for whatever we're trying to move forward with right now, and the Moon will also trine Jupiter today, which says "yes" and offers the Green light in succession to the Moon/Sun sextile.
Then the Moon carries the light of Jupiter over to Saturn and continues in the process of Jupiter and Saturn trying to work out an agreement...the old and the young, the old structure and the new, the hope for the future and the wisdom of the past.
However, during all of this the Moon conjoins Mars, which should give us pause for deeper reflection. There may be a little warning about being cautious, being modest, or hiding our light today. Even though today has the look and feel of all of these "positive" connections from the Moon, she is not completely comfortable or without some agitation, temper, impulse, or reactivity today. The applying conjunction from the Moon to Mars tells us that we have to be careful not to push, pry, or make demands as things are moving along naturally in our favor. As the I Ching teaches us, real strength is modest and real power is patient. When we lose modesty and patience, we often sabotage the green lights that are naturally appearing on the horizon in front of us.
I used to play a game when I was driving to school every day that illustrates this dynamic. When I would see a green light ahead of me I was always tempted to speed up and rush through it. But whenever I did that it seemed like it would turn red right away. It's not like I believed that my rushing toward it was causing it to turn red or anything, but it made me pause and wonder if there was some kind of energetic connection between rushing toward something and it saying "no" in response. So I started playing a game with myself. When I saw a green light, rather than speeding up, I would work consciously to stay moving at exactly the same speed. Sometimes the light would still turn red, and others it would stay green. Soon I forgot I was playing this game, and to this day I don't speed up when I see green.
I wonder how many countless hours of stressful driving I've reduced from my life thanks to this little game. The most important lesson I've learned from this game is the simplest: not rushing toward the green doesn't mean the light will stay green because you're not attached to the outcome, it means that in time you won't care if it stays green or turns red, either way!
And this, in short, is what it means to have a bunch of green lights in the planets today, with a hint of "I WANT IT SO BAD I'M WILLING TO SPEED TO GET THROUGH THESE GREEN LIGHTS."
Prayer: Help us to keep our modest, steady pace, even when we see green lights ahead.
